INTERMEDIATE WHEEL THROWING: FUNCTIONAL FORMS (8 WEEKS)
Take your wheel throwing skills to the next level in this 8-week intermediate course designed for students who can already center clay and throw a basic cylinder independently.
Students will build confidence and consistency while creating a series of functional pottery forms, including mugs, plates, vases, and large bowls. Each project focuses on refining technique, improving form, and developing greater control on the wheel.
Course projects include:
Students will learn:
• Refining cylinder forms
• Handle pulling and attachment
• Throwing wide forms and plates
• Collaring techniques for vases
• Trimming for function and aesthetics
• Creating larger forms with confidence
A glazing session is included in the course fee and will be scheduled outside of regular class time after bisque firing.
Prerequisite: Completion of Beginner Wheel Throwing or equivalent experience. Students should be comfortable centering clay and throwing a basic cylinder independently.
All clay, firings, and glazing are included.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled class time to be sure your check-in process is complete and your class may begin on time.
– Our studio is cold in the winter and hot in the summer, please dress accordingly.
– Please wear comfortable clothes that you do not mind getting messy!
– We highly recommend trimming long nails ahead of class to make the process easier!
